Why Mochan
Compare us honestly.
“A2”, “bilona”, “Gir”, “glass jar” — every premium ghee says the same words now. Here is what is actually different about Mochan, point by point.
Side by side
Practices, not brand names.
We compare how ghee is made and sold, not other families’ businesses. Ask any brand the same questions.
“Typical” describes common practice in the market, not any particular brand.
Why it costs more
We could make it cheaper. We would have to stop being Mochan.
- 01
It is made 100% in-house, by hand, after you order
No contract factory, no stock waiting in a warehouse. Small batches cost more to make — and taste like it.
- 02
Bilona yields very little
Making ghee from curd rather than cream takes far more milk and far more time for every jar.
- 03
90–95% of the profit goes to the goshala
Charity does not come free. The price of a jar is also the care of the Nandi and the cows that no longer give milk.
Before you buy any ghee
Five questions worth asking.
Even if you never buy Mochan, ask these. A good maker will be glad you did.
- 1Ask who made it — a name, not a brand.
- 2Ask where the milk came from, and which cows.
- 3Ask to see the process — not a stock photo of a churn.
- 4Ask for the certificate of the batch in your hand.
- 5Smell and look: a gentle nutty aroma, a granular golden set.
Ask us all five. Then taste the difference.
Made after your order, in small batches. When a month’s batches are reserved, new orders join the next one.
